While taking pictures with her bridesmaids in Pittsburgh, one bride got quite the surprise as she was photobombed by Tom Hanks.

The Forrest Gump actor was in Pittsburgh to shoot his new movie A Man Called Ove and approached the bride, Grace Gwaltney, to ask if he could join in the fun.

His wife, Rita Wilson, also jumped in some photos.

The photographer, Rachel Rowland, told Newsweek: “When it first happened, we were all confused, and it didn’t click for a second. Most of us stared quietly for a second. Then we all erupted in screams.”

She added: “You always have all of these plans and ideas for when you meet a celebrity and then when you do – especially national treasure Tom Hanks – you really become mush.”

After posing for some pictures, Hanks then hung around and helped Rowland to make sure everyone else got their chance for pictures with the bride.

She said: “He was exactly as you would assume him to be: joyful, funny, loud and kind,”

The Bride, Gwaltney, also spoke to WTAE-TV Pittsburg to recount the whole experience, saying she “immediately froze” when she noticed he was approaching her.

She added: “He was talking in my ear, and I was thinking of Toy Story.”

The Oscar-winning actor has a history for doing things like this.

In 2016 he managed to insert himself into another set of wedding day images. The photos, which he shared on Twitter, showed him posing with the bride and groom who were having their celebrations in Central Park.

He did it again in 2021 with two brides on their wedding day in Santa Monica.

Tom Hanks will be appearing in the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, Elvis, set for release on 24 June 2022. He is also in a live-action version of Pinocchio out in September.
