The penultimate outing for Jodie Whittaker's Doctor is set to land on our screens this Easter and, to get us in the mood, a trailer for the episode, called Doctor Who: Legend Of The Sea Devils, has just dropped.
Legend Of The Sea Devils will be the second in a trilogy of Doctor Who specials this year, as Whittaker prepares to bid farewell to the TARDIS for good. It will air on the BBC on Sunday April 17th and will see the Doctor take on old adversaries, the Sea Devils.
The new adventure will follow the Doctor, Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop), as they travel to 19th century China, where a coastal village is under threat from the legendary pirate queen Madame Ching (played by Crystal Yu) and those pesky Sea Devils.
“Swashbuckle your seatbelts for an epic special adventure”, the new trailer tells us.
The teaser clip, while not giving away a great deal, shows that the upcoming episode is set to be an action-packed affair, featuring a hovering ship, some awesome sci-fi sword fights and a deep-sea monster.
“Say hello to my crew,” the Doctor says, as battle is about to commence.
The new trailer also shows a bit of friction between the Doctor and Yaz, with Yaz saying to her: “You’re like a kid sometimes."

Fans were excited by the clip, and especially the return of the revamped Sea Devils, with one person commenting on YouTube that it’s “nice to finally bring back this enemy after such a long time of them being absent from the show.”
Someone else wrote: “Don’t think we’ve been on a pirate ship since the Matt Smith era. But fantastic to see the Sea Devils again with a modern look.”
Another person commented on the aesthetic of the show, saying: “Wow the FX looks great and the costume design is so good! Just from seeing the trailer, these departments deserve awards.”
We’re definitely looking forward to this one!
