With massively-anticipated new Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi landing on our screens later this month, it seems that legendary Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea might be making a cameo.

The Star Wars spin-off will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the titular character, having previously played the Jedi in the three Star Wars prequels, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.

Trainspotting star McGregor won’t be the only big name to look out for in the new series. Hayden Christensen returns as Darth Vader, while Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse will be back as Luke Skywalker’s uncle and aunt. Homeland’s Rupert Friend will play the Grand Inquisitor and, interestingly, Flea seems like he will also be in the new show.

According to Star Wars News Net, the RHCP bass player, real name Michael Balzary, will make an appearance. Whilst nothing is known about what role he will potentially play, and whether he will be a good guy or on the Dark Side of the Force, Star Wars News Net says he “will be wielding a cool-looking blaster.”

Flea is no stranger to the acting world. He has previously appeared in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Back To The Future Parts II and III, and The Big Lebowski, as well as performing voice roles in the likes of Inside Out, Rugrats Go Wild, and Toy Story 4.

Whilst we wait to see what roles Flea plays in Obi-Wan Kenobi, we do know that the narrative will be set a decade after the events of Revenge of the Sith. With the Empire in total command of the galaxy, and with Darth Vader’s goons hunting down and killing Jedi Knights, McGregor’s Obi-Wan is in hiding on Tatooine, keeping watch on a young Luke Skywalker (played by child actor Grant Feely) from a distance.

There’s no sign of Flea in the new trailer, which landed earlier this week, but it still looks absolutely epic. Watch it here and try to tell us you’re not excited about the upcoming series:

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available to watch on Disney+ on May 27th.
