Following the success of Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Netflix is reportedly making another sports documentary, this time about tennis star Nick Kyrgios.

The Aussie made it to the final of this year’s Wimbledon, where he took the first set against Novak Djokovic, before eventually losing three sets to one in a thrilling match.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the tennis player is understood to have signed a big-money deal with the streaming platform before the tournament. It is believed that it will focus largely on the Wimbledon final, which was the first time he made it to the last match in a Grand Slam tournament.

The series will likely feature interviews with Nick and other members of his team.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Sports documentaries are working well for Netflix. They get huge viewing figures across the world. Nick is fascinating to watch both on and off the tennis court. His antics at Wimbledon made him a household name.

‘This film will feature footage, which could be explosive – and compulsive viewing. Wimbledon was a very colourful time for him.”

If the Wimbledon final is any indicator, the Netflix documentary will certainly be an interesting watch. Kyrgios’ outburst to the umpire in the third set - when he complained to the umpire that a fan in the crowd was drunk - went viral,

“She’s distracting me when I’m serving. In a Wimbledon final. There’s no bigger occasion…. Why is she still here?” he complained. “She's drunk out of her mind and speaking to me in the middle of a game.”

When the umpire asked who he was referring to, he said: “The one who looks like she's had about 700 drinks.”

He also dropped some choice language while on court, meaning that Prince George perhaps learnt some new words while watching from the Royal Box!

The documentary will also apparently feature the tennis star’s post-tournament party.

Sounds like entertaining viewing!
