Autumn is here! Starbucks confirms official pumpkin spice latte release date

Starbucks loyalty card users had a head start, but now the coffee chain has confirmed when everyone can get their hands on the autumn favourite of pumpkin spice.

Start planning your autumn outfits and Halloween costumes now, as the pumpkin spice latte is just around the corner.

It will be coming back (after a sneak preview) later on this week, on Thursday September 1.

If you've never had one before, you've been missing out.

A pumpkin spice latte is an espresso with steamed milk and an autumnal spice mix, featuring pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.

It is finished with whipped cream and a pumpkin spice topping.

If coffee isn't your thing, you can also get a pumpkin spice cream Frappuccino too, perfect for the warmer days.

They have also added the pumpkin cream cold brew to the menu.

The new drink features Starbucks cold brew with vanilla and a pumpkin cream foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice topping.

Just Cluysenaer, Food and Beverage Director, said: “Each year, our customers eagerly anticipate the return of the PSL, knowing that it officially marks the change in season.

“We’ve already made great advances in cold coffee innovation, and with a growing number of our customers drinking their coffee iced all year round, this year we are delighted to introduce a new iced, pumpkin beverage.

"Combining two of our customer’s favourite tastes, iconic pumpkin spice and our refreshing cold brew, each sip of pumpkin cream cold brew will deliver the familiar, creamy flavour of pumpkin spice followed by the uplifting coffee flavour of Starbucks® cold brew”.

The autumn menu also includes the popular iced salted maple and caramel latte.

Featuring an Starbucks Blonde® Espresso Roast and salted maple sauce, the drink is served over ice and has a caramel crunch topping to finish it off.
