Bring on the masks and outrageous costumes - The Masked Dancer is heading back to ITV this weekend.

Celebs from all walks of showbiz life will pull off their best moves in front of the panel - Davina McCall, Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross and newcomer Peter Crouch - to try and keep their identity a secret, all while giving out cryptic clues and hints.

Gymnast Louis Smith was crowned the winner of the first series last year as Carwash, with the likes of Kelly Brook, Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood and Tamzin Outwaite also pulling shapes in the hilarious outfits.

Thirteen new masked celebrities will be hoping to keep their true identities, but as the series is filmed ahead of airing on ITV, the panel have to keep their lips tightly sealed so as to not ruin the fun for viewers.

While speaking to virginradio.co.uk and other press at the ITV Entertainment Launch on Monday (30th August), Davina and Oti revealed keeping hush-hush about the stars taking part becomes harder as the show goes on.

When asked how intense it is to keep the secrets safe, Davina revealed: “It's really hard, because I've got three kids, we sit down and watch the show together and the thumb screws come out and they start turning! And they're like, ‘is it blah blah?’ Sometimes I have to kind of leave and just go ‘just stop it!’

“Sometimes they're quite close and I just don't give anything away. That's the hardest for me.”

Former Strictly pro Oti agreed, adding that going as far as accidentally revealing the gender of the celebrity can be nerve-wracking.

Oti added: “I find it hard when you're talking about them at moments like this, to not reveal the gender. That is so difficult when you go, ‘this character here’ and then you [accidentally] go, ‘oh no’ or ‘oh yes’, I find that really difficult.”

The Masked Dancer will see celebs take on their costumed alter-egos, with the likes of Cactus, Candlestick, Sea Slug, as well as Onomatopoeia, Pearly King, Pig, Pillar and Post, and Prawn Cocktail. Other characters are Scissors, Odd Socks, Astronaut, and Tomato Sauce.

Meanwhile, football star Peter Crouch will fill in for Mo Gilligan, and recently said he was excited for being on the panel that his friends and family “won’t be constantly speculating that I’m hiding behind one of those masks!”

The Masked Dancer series two will air on ITV at 6.30pm on Saturday 3rd September.
