Be warned, this isn't the cute and fluffy Winnie that you're used to.

A new independent horror film is coming, called Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.

The first trailer has arrived, and it's a darker side of everyone's favourite bear.

The happy Winnie with the red t-shirt and a love of honey is nowhere to be seen in this scary movie.

Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, this film will definitely ruin some childhood memories, as the film tells the tale of Pooh and Piglet going down a violent path, after Christopher Robin abandons them.

Watch the trailer below.

Fans have been commenting about the trailer on social media.

One wrote: "I was on the phone and just said 'Whoa whoa wait, I’ll have to call you back. The trailer for the Winnie the Pooh horror movie is out!'"

Another added: "I have a cousin who is a huge Winnie the Pooh fan and seeing this trailer to her, oh boy it's gonna ruin her childhood forever."

"That Winnie the Pooh horror movie…camp," summarised one.

Another Twitter user had a genius suggestion: "Should have had a scary warped voice say 'oh bother'."

Not everyone was convinced though: "I know effort was put into this but kinda looks lake a parody and you can tell that they had a some what Small budget ill still check out just for fun [sic]."

"I swear these don't even look like Pooh and Piglet they look more like men in masks," criticised another.

One insisted: "That Winnie the pooh horror movie looks absolutely horrendous. From the acting to the production values to the plot. Omg I can't wait to see it!"

The film is being made thanks to lapsed copyright on the book characters.
