They got into a fist-fight in Bridget Jones’ Diary, but it seems the rivalry continued off-screen for Hugh Grant and Colin Firth.

Ok, so they might not be long-time nemeses, but Hugh made sure to poke fun at his Love Actually co-star and frenemy in quite a unique way.

It turns out Hugh decided to make one of his jokes permanent, and within the halls of the prestigious BAFTA HQ in London’s Piccadilly.

It seems the actor has dedicated one of the seats within a BAFTA screening room to Colin, and the tiny plaque was found by TV blogger Elliot Gonzalez, who shared the incredible memorial on Twitter.

The plaque reads: “In loving memory of Colin Firth. Not dead yet, but looks it. Sponsored by Hugh Grant”.

Fans rushed to comment underneath the hilarious post, with one writing: “Their ongoing rivalry is so fun haha.”

Another added: “Hugh Grant is the biggest troll in Hollywood and I love it,” while a third said: “This has made me properly lose it laughing.”

Hugh’s humour is probably one of the main reasons one in five Brits say they would vote for him to be Prime Minister.

A study by BritBox film documentary series Reel Britannia found that 18 per cent of Brits voted for Hugh to take the country's reigns, with 36 per cent voting for Tom Hardy as the UK’s favourite homegrown hero.

Of course, Hugh’s not new to the idea of PM, having starred as the government leader in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually back in 2003.

Why do we get the feeling that Colin might not get a seat in the cabinet?
