The comedian is heading to non-league!

Taskmaster creator Alex Horne has announced that he is one of the new directors of Southern League Premier Division South football club, Chesham United.

The 44-year-old confirmed the news via Twitter on September 30th.

Though he is a Liverpool fan, the leader of comedy band, The Horne Section, is a frequent spectator at The Meadow, where 'The Generals' play.

Horne first announced that he had been signed by the club to play up-front, before specifying that he is the latest member to join their board.

He said: “I am now an official director on the board at Chesham United.

“I genuinely could not be any more excited and I hope to be adding more of my thoughts to this club.

“Let’s see what happens and please come to the Meadow and watch Chesham United, and you’ll probably see me up there (the director’s box), chanting my own name.”

Chesham are currently third in the league with a game in hand.

They'll be hoping that their new star signing will be up to the Task(master) of getting them to the top!
