Stacey Solomon has opened up about the trials and tribulations of bringing two families together after starting her relationship with new husband Joe Swash.

The telly couple recently tied the knot during a ceremony at their beloved Pickle Cottage with Stacey’s two sons, Zachary and Leighton, as well as Joe’s teen son Harry.

Stacey and Joe share two children together, Rose and Rex, and while on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast, Parenting Hell, the Loose Women star revealed it’s not always been plain sailing to bring the two families together.

The presenter said: “The blended family situation has been a rocky road. That has never been easy. We have always had to work really hard to make sure everyone feels secure."

Stacey and Joe were overcome with emotion on their big day after her and Joe’s eldest sons decided to do a speech about their life together.

On the adorable moment, the Tap to Tidy author said: “It was so funny we didn’t say to the boys you need to do a speech. Joe was an emotional mess the whole day. People coming up to me saying 'Joe is a mess down there'.

"They never say anything! Especially teenage boys. They don’t ever tell you how they feel or what they think about anything so it was really emotional to hear what they have to say."

Stacey has always kept her fans apprised with all of her family life on social media, and she recently uploaded the moment her and Joe waltzed together at their wedding reception

The loved-up couple had singer Kara Marni serenade them with an acoustic version of Whitney Houston’s Your Love Is My Love for their precious moment.

In the caption, a besotted Stacey wrote: “We got to see some of our videos today and it was magical. It’s so nice to have had time to remember our wedding in our heads and tell each other our different memories & favourite moments. Then to see it all on video was just the most special feeling ever. Hope this makes your heart happy the way it did us. Joe speaking to me in the middle is my favourite bit.

“My sister found the singer who sung the version of this song that I am obsessed with and she booked her to sing us our first dance as a surprise. It was even more incredible live and I cried as soon as I saw it was her.”

Meanwhile, Stacey will be busy as the year comes to a close with her very own Christmas show.

A one-off show, called Craft Your Own Christmas with Stacey Solomon, will see the TV personality share tips on having a magical festive season that won’t break the bank.
