We're in the sweet spot for some cosy cinema trips as the days get colder and darker, and so it's no surprise there's yet another bumper crop of movies to check in November.

From superheroes to eighties icons, virginradio.co.uk has compiled all the films you should consider checking out when you're thinking about what to do as winter draws in.

Duran Duran - A Hollywood High (2nd November)

Eighties icons Duran Duran will be front and centre for their upcoming love letter to Los Angeles - A Hollywood High

The 75-minute documentary is based on their recent rooftop extravaganza in the city to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

A Hollywood High was shot in the heart of Hollywood at the exclusive members-only Aster hotel, overlooking the building of their original US record label, Capitol Records.

Featuring interviews and vintage footage, the movie captures the love affair between the band and the City of Angels, chronicling their rise to music royalty, being honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1993 and gaining heartthrob status.

Living (4th November)

Bill Nighy and Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood team up on the big screen for new period drama, Living.

It’s an adaptation of 1952 Japanese film Ikiru, which was inspired by Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich.

Bill plays a widowed civil servant, Mr Williams, who finds out he’s facing a fatal illness, and decides to take what life he has left into his own hands.

The one thing Mr Williams wants to achieve is getting a children’s playground, which local mothers have been petitioning for, finally built, and he makes it his mission to ensure the last project goes ahead, much to the chagrin of his bureaucratic colleagues.

The Estate (4th November)

Toni Colette leads The Estate as a sister trying to get her hands on the wealth of her terminally ill aunt, but the rest of her family have the same idea.

Alongside Toni is Anna Faris, Kathleen Turner and David Duchovny in this family-focused black comedy.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (11th November)

The latest superhero blockbuster is about to hit the big screen with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the Black Panther sequel sees leaders in Wakanda pull together to defeat a common threat to their kingdom.

BP2 also marks the final instalment in Phase 4 of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, and will no doubt pay tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who passed away two years after playing the titular superhero.

Aftersun (18th November)

After his breakout performance in drama series Normal People, Paul Mescal is continuing to make waves in the movie world with his next project, Aftersun

The story focuses on a woman’s tender reminiscences of embarking on a summer vacation to Turkey with her dad during her childhood.
