Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage is set to star in, and executive produce, a new movie called Longlegs.

Fresh from having played a version of himself in 2022’s brilliant comedy-action flick, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the actor will take on the new project, which Deadline reports as being "in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers".

Not many other details are available about what we can expect from Longlegs, but we do know that it will be scripted Gretel and Hansel writer Osgood Perkins, who is also set to direct the film.

Filming for Longlegs is set to begin sometime in 2023. At this stage, no scheduled release date for the movie has been made available.

Nicolas Cage, who starred in critically acclaimed movie Pig last year, is reportedly also in “discussions” to star in a National Treasure sequel and another Face/Off movie.

According to reports, the actor is currently in various stages of discussions to return for a third National Treasure film. In the summer, the film’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, also confirmed the script had been written and will be sent to Cage.

Speaking to, he said: “We’re working on the script right now. Hopefully [Cage] likes it, but it’s really good. So I think we’ll get it to him shortly.”

Another Nic Cage classic is perhaps getting a sequel, with Face/Off 2 apparently having been in the works since 2019, with the star on board.

And the films keep on coming for Cage. It was recently revealed that he has also been cast in survival-action thriller Sand and Stones. The narrative will take place in a collapsed society where the world's population has plummeted. Cage's character has been able to survive on a remote farmhouse with his teenage sons.

Looks like we’ll be seeing lots of Nic Cage in the near future then, and you won’t hear us complaining about that!
