Tyler West has learned a lot from his time on Strictly Come Dancing and has hinted he might even continue dancing following his elimination.

The presenter left the competition on Sunday (20th November) with his partner Dianne Buswell after they found themselves in the dance-off against Molly Rainford and her partner Carlos Gu.

Despite having no previous dancing experience, Tyler often found himself at the upper end of the leader board and was the celebrity who earned the first 10s of this year’s competition.

Speaking exclusively to virignradio.co.uk, Tyler admitted he loved learning the routines each week and would miss the thrill of performing after being voted out of the series.

He explained: “I always dreamed of being on their shows then the fact of actually doing it and then that idea of a performance, then you do it. And it's just like this euphoric feeling once you come off the floor and I guess I will miss that.”

The presenter joked: “Definitely any dance crews and clubs hit me up.”

While competing on the show, Tyler also completed the London Marathon and explained how Strictly has taught him more about himself than anything else he’s ever done.

He added: “I think I’ve definitely discovered how far I can push myself. Once you put your mind to it, you can push through it and you will find a way to make it happen. There are so many things that are possible and I was inspired by myself and by being a little bit stronger.

“I feel like that's the biggest thing that I've taken away. Is that just kind of pushing those boundaries and limitations.”

There are lots of highlights for Tyler to reflect on during his time in the competition and, as previously mentioned, he was awarded the first 10s of the series from the judges.

Looking back on that achievement, Tyler said it was a real “milestone” for him and called it an honour.

He said: “We really didn’t expect it. I don’t know if you could tell by our reactions but it really meant a lot. It was a surreal feeling and we didn’t expect it and it felt like there was a lot of pressure on that week for multiple reasons.

"We just gave it our all and left it all on the dancefloor.”

Despite his Strictly journey coming to an end, it might not be the last time Tyler laces up his dancing shoes as the presenter said he would consider taking it further.

While talking about his dedication to learning routines, partner Dianne asked: “Do you think you’ll keep dancing afterwards? Because you’re obviously very good at it.”

To which he responded: “You know, I actually would consider going to weekly classes.”

Dianne added: “I can see how much you love learning new dances and new steps. I can genuinely see the love and passion there, so I do think you’ll miss it.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One.
