Taskmaster New Year special 2022: Who are the celebrities taking part?

Taskmaster will see in the New Year with another star-studded special. 

Taskmaster’s New Year Treat will feature even more weird and wonderful challenges for their celebrity line-up, and all under the watchful eye of host Greg Davies and (little) Alex Horne. 

This year, those who will be handed the infamous wax-sealed envelope include Countdown icon Carol Vorderman, radio presenter Greg James, Chicken Shop Date host Amelia Dimoldenberg, Olympic champ Mo Farah and pop star Rebecca Lucy Taylor, or as she’s known in the charts, Self Esteem. 

This year, the celebs will be battling out during the outrageous tasks for the special New Years trophy: Greg’s Golden Eyebrows. 

Not much else is known about Taskmaster’s New Year Treat, or when it airs, so watch this space!

The exciting news comes ahead of the finale of series 14, which continues on Channel 4 with Dara Ó Briain, Fern Brady, Munya Chawawa, John Kearns, Sarah Millican. 

Speaking of TikTok star Munya, the comedian has just announced his debut headline UK tour. 

The comedian has confirmed he’ll be heading out on his debut tour, kicking things off with shows in Leicester and Manchester on 5th October, before finishing things off in Edinburgh on 28th. 

While audiences are loving Munya on Taskmaster, the funnyman got his start on social media, making hilarious parody videos for his 1.4 million TikTok followers, before exploding onto the telly scene. 

His rapid-fire observations and original characters will make it into his stage show, with the likes of TV chef Jonny Oliver and rapper Unknown P expected to make an appearance. 

Taskmaster airs on Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4. Taskmaster's New Year Treat will air this winter.
