He’s wowing viewers with his moves in the current series of Strictly Come Dancing, and now Hamza Yassin is reportedly in line to get his own TV nature show.

The wildlife presenter and cameraman is known for his work on Countryfile and as Ranger Hamza on CBeebies. And following his popularity on Strictly, The Sun reports that the BBC are keen to sign him up for a new project.

Hamza has a degree in zoology with conservation and a masters in biological photography but, when he entered Strictly, he was hardly a household name. Even co-host Claudia Winkleman admitted to The Times: “I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know Hamza.”

However, his consistently excellent performances on the dance floor with professional partner Jowita Przystal have led him to become one of the favourites to win the sought-after Glitterball trophy.

And we might be set to see more Hamza on our tellies in the future. A TV insider told The Sun: “He’s been nothing short of a sensation on Strictly this year, coming from being a virtual unknown to becoming a huge favourite among viewers and judges alike.

“That’s why he’s invariably been near the top of the scoreboard every week and has never been in the dance-off.

“But his popularity is as much to do with his personality and humility as anything else — and that’s what bosses are keen to develop further.”

The nature-lover appeared on Loose Women with dance partner Jowita Prystal earlier this week, and he explained that he is finding his new celebrity status tough, saying: “It is a lot for me… I can happily spend three or four weeks by myself.”

He continued: “I was and I am on social media, but as soon as I got announced [as being on Strictly], it was like ‘Oooh, who is he?’ and ‘I don’t know who he is’ – and granted, you’re not meant to know who a wildlife cameraman or presenter is… normally I wasn’t under the spotlight.”

Safe to say that plenty of people know who Hamza is now!
