A collaboration between a fast-food joint and sweet treats hub has launched a brand new, and rather calorific, burger, which features a doughnut instead of a bun.

West Midlands burger restaurant Stripclub Streetfood, and Project D in Derby, have joined forces to create the mammoth meal, which sees beef patties, bacon, cheese and relish slammed inside a surgery doughnut. Of course, no doughnut would be complete without sprinkles and bright pink icing.

The colourful creation, called Project S, is a staggering 3,000 calories, and costs £12 for anyone who thinks they’re up for the challenge of the mega-treat.

According to The Sun, everyone who steps up to try Project S will get a pair of pink latex gloves to keep their hands clean.

The owner of Stripclub Street food, Tom Hope, told the publication: “People go wild for that sweet edge to their burgers – and this one is set to be a real showstopper.

“Even those who never thought this mix would work have been very curious to try it – and very pleasantly surprised by the result.”

If you’re feeling hungry enough, Project S burgers will be available to buy at the locations around the West Midlands for the next month.

Fans rushed to Stripclub’s social media to share their delight and reviews of the eye-popping collaboration.

One Instagram user wrote: “I've had the doughnut collab and can confirm it is amazing. I'll be back in to get another as soon as they're in the house.”

Another commented: “Looks like someone's trying to get me to try every special you can make. You have succeeded.”

A third responded; “Neeeeeeddddddddd!!!!!!!!! My favourite donut place and favourite burger joint!!!”
