If you can’t wait for season three of Ted Lasso, then you’ll be excited to learn that it’s coming pretty soon.

And to get us even more excited about the return of the life-affirming football comedy, a first-look image of the new season has dropped.

Whilst an exact date for the premiere of season three has yet to be announced, Apple TV+ has revealed that the show will be back in the Spring.

The news comes via a post on the official Apple TV+ Twitter account, in which a still from the new season has been shared.

The streaming platform dropped an image of everyone’s favourite moustachioed manager, played by Jason Sudeikis, in a showdown with his former assistant coach - and current antagonist - Nate, played by Nick Mohammed.

Ted is the manager of AFC Richmond, while Nathan Shelley is the new boss at West Ham United. In the background of the image is Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head) the smarmy ex of Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca. Rupert, having once owned Richmond, now owns West Ham.

The image of Ted and Nate is captioned: “Time to win the whole f***ing thing. Here’s your first look at #TedLasso Season 3, coming to Apple TV+ this Spring.”

Have a look here:

The showdown between the two former friends comes after an explosive season two finale, in which (spoiler alert), Nate infuriated viewers by tearing up Ted's beloved BELIEVE poster and defecting to The Hammers.

Last year, Ted Lasso picked up 20 Emmy nominations, the same number that it did the year previously, with UK comedian Brett Goldstein winning the Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy series.

Fans are clearly excited about news of the upcoming third outing for the sitcom, and are looking forward to seeing how Nate’s story develops. One commenter wrote: “The fact that I now hate Nate after how his arc began is a true testament to the writers on this show.”

Another added: “Better believe we are ready for more Teddy!”

Meanwhile, regarding exactly when new episodes will be aired, someone commented: “But spring is 3 months. Can you clarify if it's early spring, mid-spring, or late spring?”

Let's hope that an exact date is announced soon because we can barely wait!
