Rag’n’Bone Man made a cameo appearance in EastEnders over the festive period, and now the Brighton musician has shared some behind-the-scenes footage of him singing to the cast and crew.
The artist appeared in the long-running BBC soap opera as the musical guest at a carol concert fundraiser, in an episode that aired just before Christmas. Rocky (played by Brian Conley) managed to persuade the award-winning musician to sing at the Walford event as a wedding gift to Janine and Mick.
At the time, he said: “In the words of Gabrielle ‘dreams can come true’ Thanks to everyone at EastEnders for one of the best days of my life!!”
In a tweet posted yesterday (18th January), the singer shared a video in which he sings to members of the cast and crew.
Standing in Albert Square, Rag’n’Bone Man, (real name Rory) sings his hit, Skin. Accompanied by piano, he delivers the song, at one point changing the lyrics to reference one of the stars of the show.
“When the walls came down I was thinking about Linda,” he sings, in reference to Linda Henry, who plays Shirley Carter in the show. The actor has got a front row view of the rendition and looks surprised and overjoyed to get a namecheck. Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater), is next to her, and laughs with excitement.
At the end of the live version of his single, the chart-topper hugs Linda, who is clearly overwhelmed and emotional, and Jessie.
Have a look at the clip here:
Fans loved the video, with one person commenting: “Bless Shirley she was so besotted and focused and holding back tears, true power of a beautiful voice ❤️🙏”
Another added: “Ahh, the look on Linda Henry’s face has really got me. Lush moment.”
Someone else wrote: “Seeing Linda Henry cry just made me cry. That was utterly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your voice with the world.”
EastEnders airs on BBC One and can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
