Ricky Gervais shares hilarious Afterlife bloopers and fans are loving it

Ricky Gervais has shared some hilarious outtakes from his hit Netflix series After Life and we challenge you to get through it without laughing.

The series came to an end last year and Gervais took to Twitter this week to treat fans to some bloopers from the show.

The bloopers have been taken from the second series of the show which aired in 2020 and in one scene, we see the employees of Tambury Gazette trying to enjoy some birthday cake in the office.

However, it’s impossible for the actors to keep a straight face as James shoves cake in his mouth and Pat encourages him to have more. Ethan Lawrence, who played James, bursts in laughter and the rest of the cast break down giggling again and again.

What makes it even funnier is hearing Gervais’ laughter from behind the camera and things descend into chaos.

We don’t know how long it took them to film the scene but Gervais revealed that it’s the only one he’s ever had to film over two days because he “ran out of time on the first”.

Lawrence also responded to the video and said: “Now we’re three years removed from shooting it I feel I can ask the question: was it worth it? Yes.”

In the comments, fans of the show described the clip as “priceless”, with one person writing: “Thanks for that share. I needed a gut busting laugh! 😂😂”.

Another said: “I loved watching the outtakes of Afterlife almost as much as the show itself. It looks like you all had so much fun making it. 😆”.

A third added: “Thank you for filming it! I often watch the outtakes and always absolutely cry with laughter. I don’t know how you ever got through most of the funny scenes!”
