Jamie Lee Curtis has finally revealed a Freaky Friday follow-up film is on its way after 20 years.
The original movie, released in 2003, starred Curtis as single mother Tess and Lindsay Lohan as her teenage daughter Anna, and the two are rarely on the same page. After receiving a strange and magical fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant, they wake up the next day to discover they have switched bodies and have to live life as the other.
Fans of the movie have been calling for a follow up for years and now it looks like their pleading has paid off.
In an interview with Variety, Curtis revealed: “It’s going to happen.

“Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen."
This comes after the actress posted a photo with Freaky Friday co-star Lindsay Lohan with the caption: “It’s Friday. I’m just saying! Freaky fingers crossed!”
Of course, this sent fans wild and they took to the comments to share their excitement, with one person writing: “Yes please make it happen”.
Another said: “Now this is a sequel that WE WANT!”
While a third added: “Oh God, it's (almost) Happening!!! Please, Disney!!!!”
Jamie has been hinting that a new movie was on its way for a while and when appearing on The View she revealed she already had some ideas for the plot.
She pitched: "Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon.
"I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world.”
