Yabba dabba dooooooooooooooooooo!

Fox have announced that Bedrock, a sequel series to the popular animated show The Flintstones, is coming to television. Elizabeth Banks (Cocaine Bear) will lead the cast and executive produce.

Originally seen on TV between 1960 and 1966, the new show will follow an adult Pebbles two decades after the events of the original series, as Fred approaches retirement and Pebbles sets out on her own career. As the Stone Age gives way to a new Bronze Age, Bedrock's residents will face new challenges.

The voice cast includes Banks as Pebbles, Stephen Root (Barry) as Fred, Amy Sedaris (The Mandalorian) as Wilma, Nicole Byer (Velma) as Betty, Joe Lo Truglio (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Barney, and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) as Bamm-Bamm.

Warner Bros. Animation and Fox Entertainment will produce the show, with Banks, Max Handelman from Brownstone Productions, and Sam Register as executive producers. Lindsay Kerns (Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous) and Lon Zimmet (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) will write the series, with Kerns serving as co-executive producer and Zimmet as executive producer.

The Flintstones was the first animated series to have a primetime TV slot from Hannah-Barbara and while repeats often air, the show has been missed from our screens in the decades that have followed.

In 1994, a live-action feature film based on The Flintstones was released, featuring John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Elizabeth Perkins, Rosie O’Donnell, Halle Berry, and Kyle MacLachlan.

That was rubbish. But this looks like it might not be...
