If you've had enough chocolate and are craving a savoury treat this Easter, Morrisons has come to the rescue.

They have revealed two different cheese Easter eggs for this year, and fans of savoury snacks will be very happy with the new additions.

Bucking the trend for sweet eggs, fans will be able to sink their teeth into two different flavours of cheese eggs.

The first is a Lancashire & Cheddar, the second is a Stratford Blue for those who like a stronger flavour.

Both are soft and creamy, perfect for spreading onto a cracker of your choice.

These cheesy eggs will be on sale from Wednesday March 29, for £5, and are both handmade in Lancashire using top quality British cheese.

Serving suggestions from Morrisons include pairing it with crumpets, crackers, and with Morrisons own Mango and Amarillo Chilli Chutney or Jalapeno Chilli Jam chutney.

Andrew Thomas is the buying manager for cheese at Morrisons said: ‘We’re continuously looking for ways to make Easter moments fun and exciting for our customers and we’re thrilled to unveil a real unique twist on a true classic.’

Asda previously released a 'Cheester Egg', complete with mini oatcakes with a sachet of caramelised onions chutney.

Cheese fans will also be pleased to know that cheese toasties have overtaken bacon rolls as a favourite.
