Hassle-free shopping? Yes, please. Prepare for the future of fast supermarkets and no more waiting in the queue for the checkout. Aldi is storming along with its sights on having the first checkout-free store which lets customers walk in and out without the pain of paying at the till.

Sounds too good to be true? All you need is a smartphone and an app. Start by registering via the Aldi app which lets you track the items you want to buy which then charges you with the automatic payment method provided.

Sounds easy enough, right?

The exact date it will be launched isn't known yet, but we do know the store will be in London.

Giles Hurley, chief executive officer for Aldi UK and Ireland said to The Independent: "We are always looking to redefine what it means to be a discount retailer, and the technology involved in this trial will give us a wealth of learnings.

"We are really excited to be testing this concept that will enable customers to pick from our range of quality products, all available at unbeatable prices, then leave the store without having to pay at a till."

App-alled by the news? Or couldn't be app-ier?
