Picking baby names is a nightmare. Just when you think you've found the perfect one you find out your next-door-neighbour's mother's cat is called the exact same thing. So now, parents are turning to Marvel films for well-needed inspiration.

Names like Thanos, Quill, Wanda and Bucky have become popular according to new research from retailer Lost Universe. Bucky is now the 6,193rd most popular name in 2021 with 3,000 parents choosing the name from films Endgame, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Thanos is now the 4,670th most popular name in the United States since 2012 with 4,666 newborns named after the baddie.

Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired Quill has become more popular and a predicted 1,333 babies will be named after Groot and Drax this year.

Since the premiere of Marvel's series WandaVision, the name Wanda has risen 3,711 places, with 11,000 infants named the same.

The Loki series launched this year and the name has become popular unlike Thor, which has seen a decrease whereas more traditional names like Carol, Steve, Natasha, Bruce and Tony have all dropped.
