First dates can be an awkward experience, and a first date will often also end up being a last date if either person commits any dating faux pas. With this in mind, a “seasoned pro at first dates” has shared her list of rules, because she says: “I feel like I have the routine down.”
YouTuber and podcast host Brooke Miccio has posted a video on TikTok which outlines the rules that she sticks to on first dates. She starts by saying "I'm going to wear heels to see if you're lying about your height, because every man on every dating app adds a few inches, which is fine. But I am 5'7 so it's just embarrassing if I show up in two-inch heels and we're the same height."
Fair enough. Next, the TikToker says: "I'm going to arrive from three to five minutes late, because I want you to already be sitting down and have the table, or tell me exactly when I'm meeting you. Because I just think it's awkward when I'm waiting for you. But I won't be crazy late.”
Regarding having a bit of a peek at the other person’s social media before the date, Brooke says: "Don't pretend like you haven't looked me up before." She added: "I already looked you up and I'd rather you do it too so you know I'm not a serial killer."
The podcast host said that a date should last a maximum of 2.5 hours, and that the guy should pay. “I'm going to offer, obviously” she said. “But it's a test."

Regarding kissing on a first date, she said: “This is interesting because I'm not a huge fan of kissing on the first date, but if we vibe, we vibing.”
While kissing might be a possibility, Brooke’s dates should, under no circumstances, try to hold her hand. "There's nothing more that I hate than having my hand held. I don't like it, don't try to hold my hand," she warned.
A very important rule of Brooke’s is that: “The guy must text me after to make sure I got home safe. Otherwise, I'm going to think you hated me and didn't have a good time. Also, it's the polite thing – like you're sending a lady out in the streets, check up on her!"
Finally, the TikToker said: “And most importantly, we're just going to have fun. Let's have a good time!”
