No one wants a stranger breathing on them for hours on end and fighting for elbow space. Thankfully, now we might not have to. All you need are these two easy plane hacks from a savvy holiday pro.

Chelsea Dickenson from cheapholidayexpert.com shared her top tips on mastering the art while travelling with another person and it sounds too simple to be true.

First, if you’re travelling on your own, book row 13. The unlucky number might cause panic for some, but for you it could mean extra space thanks to superstitions surrounding the number.

If you're travelling as a duo, the next move is key. Instead of choosing seats side-by-side, book one window and one aisle seat, leaving the middle free. It's likely to remain free as strangers won't want to sit in the middle of two other people.

User praised: "This is such a good idea!"

Another barked: "This is my good old trick! Oh no! How dare you tell people for views! This will never work again…"

One person joked: "My flight last night was completely full and I turned out to be the bloke in the middle seat."

We'll be trying this air-crafty idea soon.
