The makers of UNO have blown people’s minds after they confirmed a little known rule.

Prepare to upset your family and friends over Christmas when UNO comes out and you trash one of their moves.

The makers revealed you can’t stack +2 and +4 cards on top of each other, and fans aren’t happy.

The announcement came from the official Twitter account.

It read: "Per management: You cannot STACK a +2 on a +2."“If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped. You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it. #UNO”

In simple terms, it means the stacking of 'pick up' cards is illegal.

If a +4 is played the next player must collect four cards, before skipping a turn.

If a +2 is played it's a two card pick up, and then a skipped turn.

Horrified fans replied on Twitter in shock.

One wrote: “My whole life has been a lie” and “Delete this.”

Other players were stunned to find out they’ve been wrong all this time.

He wrote: "Ok so no stackable draw-twos, but draw-until-you-can-play is an option. Go home UNO you're drunk."

Another had some questions: “So does that mean if a player throws down a +2 card, then the next player (not the one that drew two) cannot throw down another +2 card right?”

UNO replied with: “No. When a +2 is played the next player must draw 2 cards and lose their turn. They cannot stack.”

One fan disagreed: “Dear Uno, that’s not even how you play Uno. From everybody.”
