The great news is, the sun's out. The bad news is we can now see every single bit of dust around the house. Fear no longer. Help is at hand and it won't take too long to give your abode a quick spring clean.

TikTok-ing clean queen Demi Morcom has wowed followers with her tricks of the trade. The Swansea mum found at @sparklingwithdemi has shared her house-proud hacks you can nail in just one day.

USE LAVENDER OIL ON A MATTRESS

For a squeaky clean bed, dust bicarbonate of soda onto your mattress. Leave for an hour, then hoover off.

Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to leave the mattress smelling sweet, or use a generic carpet cleaning solution for more heavier stains.

FLUFF UP BEDDING WITH A TENNIS BALL

Clean machine-washable duvets and pillows in the washing machine with a mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Add an extra rinse and spin cycle so you're not left with dripping bedding.

For tumble dryers, use a low temperature and slow spin and put three tennis balls in with them to help keep them fluffy.

USE DISHWASHER TABLETS IN YOUR WASHING MACHINE

Get rid of mould and mildew by removing the drawer and leaving it to soak in hot soapy water. Use mould spray inside it and around the rubber seal. Leave for 15 minutes and wipe down afterwards.

For an added clean, add two dishwasher tablets and run on a hot wash to give a proper scrub down.

USE BICARBONATE OF SODA TO KEEP CURTAINS FRESH

If you're washing curtains, use a mild detergent on a gentle cycle, then hang over the banister or on a radiator to dry.

Give an added spritz by mixing one cup of distilled water, 1 tbsp of bicarbonate of soda and a few drops of lemon oil.

USE TUMBLE DRYER SHEETS IN KITCHEN DRAWERS

Use a dustpan and brush or hoover to get rid of rank old crumbs then wipe with a disinfectant spray.

Empty cutlery into a bowl of hot soapy water and leave to soak. In the meantime, line the drawers with tumble dryer sheets which will catch any dirt and crud, and can be thrown away immediately next time.

USE TALC AND WASHING UP LIQUID TO GET RID OF SOFA STAINS

Use a lint roller to get rid of hairs and dust before vacuuming.

Then, mix a tablespoon of washing-up liquid and talcum powder, then leave for five minutes after sprinkling on stains.

HOW TO REMOVE CARPET GRIME

Mix bicarbonate of soda to deodorise smells and add a few drops of any essential oil which will leave your carpets smelling nice.

Sprinkle over the areas, leave on for however long you want, then vacuum up.

CLEAN BLINDS WITH OLD SOCKS

Sock bunnies? Nope, you can use old socks to clean away dust from blinds and surfaces to get into any hard to reach bits, moving along each section of the blind and the nooks and crannies.

REMOVE HARD MARKS WITH A PAINT ROLLER

Fill a bowl with hot water and washing-up liquid.

Dip an old, clean paint roller in the formula and get rolling.

USE CLING FILM TO DEEP CLEAN YOUR OVEN HOB

Soak over racks in the bath overnight with a cup of washing detergent.

Preheat the oven for ten mins to soften the grease then spray oven cleaner inside. Close the door and let it get to work for 15 mins then wipe away with a cloth or heavy duty sponge.

If you're cleaning stove tops, spray oven cleaner on top and place cling film down. Leave it to soak for an hour, then you'll be able to lift if off and wipe away any excess with ease.

CLEAN RADIATORS WITH HAIRDRYER

Use a hairdryer on a cool setting to get rid of dust from behind.

Dip an old toothbrush into a cleaning paste and give it a scrub to remove any rusty spots.

DAMP-DUST SKIRTING BOARDS

Get rid of skirting board dust by using a damp foam sponge and wipe it along the top of skirting boards.

The dirt you'll pick up will be shocking.

SOAK RUGS IN THE BATH

Flip small rugs over and vacuum the other side.

Fill your bath with hot water and leave to soak with a couple of laundry pods for a few hours to get all the unseen grime off.

Use a scrubbing brush to get to work on any marks while it’s damp and use a shower head to rinse.

If you're drying smaller rugs on top of doors or other, place a towel on the floor to catch excess water.

And voila. A sparking spring-ready home. Now, nbody move a muscle...
