This could be the answer to your prayers to burp your little one.

Many parents and guardians have tried every trick in the book to help a windy baby, but one TikTok user has shared a secret that has everyone excited.

The mum, called Meredith, posts on TikTok as @mrsstringy.

She shared the hack explaining: "Goodbye back pats. This works every time & makes her burp like a full-grown man."

Her video has since clocked up more than 570,000 likes and has been shared 27,400 times.

Parents rushed to try it out and commented their success.

“Omg!!! I just tried it with my newborn who is impossible to burp and it worked! This is going to make nightly feedings so much easier!”

“Yep! This is now I’ve burped all my reflux babies" added another,

A midwife commented: “I’m a midwife and this is what it teach people. It works. Back pats do nothing lol."

They continued: “This technique works best for me. I’m pretty sure they’ve done some studies that suggest back pats don’t really help, but do what works for you”.

A mum wrote: “The magic burp. My son had acid reflux and this is the only burp that ever helped!”

“Man, where was this 20 years ago with my acid reflux baby? I’m still trying to catch up on sleep!”

Others couldn't believe the success: “I just did this outta curiosity and omg within seconds!!”

Another added: “I just did it and it worked almost immediately!!! She's so difficult to burp that now I'm excited. Thanks for this”.

The video follows NHS advice, which says to support the baby’s head and neck and make sure their tummy and back is straight and not curled up.

Another option is to put them over your shoulder or by sitting or lying them across your lap.
