Hearts melt as 82-year-old husband releases debut love song for his wife 64 years after penning track

If music be the food of love, then get writing. Morton Block, 82, has pulled at heartstrings with his musical offering for his beloved wife who he met at 19.

The Philadelphia-based man wrote the debut single to his wife My Love in 1958 and it has captured the imagination of the internet along with clips of their 1961 honeymoon and the vocals of jazz singer @bbjazziii.

The text alongside it reads: "Hard to put into words how incredible it is to drop my first single at 82 years old! Especially because I wrote this for my wife. This is 16mm footage from our honeymoon in Miami... 1961."

Racking up over a million views and 431,000 likes, emotional viewers commented: "Overwhelmed by all the love for this song... THANK YOU."

The musician was helped with the tech side of things by his grandson and record label founder Matt, who said: "We've always made music together, just the two of us at his house."

After a date in Atlantic City with his beloved Susan, Block was deployed to Europe.

His lyrics read: "I miss you more each day, since you've gone away, I long for your touch, I need you so much, my love."
