Prepare to be grossed out by this new research.

When did you last wash your bedding? Last week? A fortnight ago?

How about four months?

New research found that almost half of all single men go a whopping four months without washing their bed sheets.

Ick.

Even worse, 12% of those asked said they only wash them then they remember.

More than 2,250 UK adults over the age of 18 were surveyed by Pizuna Linens.

They found that in contrast, 62% of single women changed their bedding once every two weeks.

Only 29% of single men could say the same.

A whopping 45% of single men admitted only washing their sheets every three to four months.

When together up, loved-up couples said they usually do their sheets every three weeks.

Some of the reasons being given included forgetting, not being bothered, and not having any other clean bedding.

So how often should you wash?

Guidance says pillowcases, sheets and duvet covers should be washed once a week.

Blankets and duvets should be washed every two-three months, and pillows every four-six months.

Are you surprised by the results?
