The future is here, because a virtual reality space is opening up in London, where you can immerse yourself in gaming as if you were actually living inside a video game.

Opening up this summer in Covent Garden, Sandbox VR London will offer free-roam team games using haptic suits. If you don’t know what that means, then you’re certainly not alone, but essentially it means players will be able to actually feel everything that is going on in the game. Hollywood motion capture cameras, 3D precision full-body trackers and haptic suits will allow players to experience the touch, motion and temperature of things, as they visit all manner of universes.

With Sandbox VR being all about the social gaming, the VR goggles and bodysuits allow players to see their chums and interact with them as they explore these new worlds. Up to six players can enjoy this experience together.

Games will include Curse of Davy Jones, Amber Sky 2088, and Star Trek: Discovery, and you can also battle a zombie apocalypse!

And when you need a break from the gaming? Well, the 300-capacity venue will feature the UK’s first permanent robotic bartender. And you won’t have to queue long to get your drink, as it can makean impressive 80 drinks an hour. The state-of-the-art robotic IG-1, aka the Makr Shakr, takes orders using in-built table terminals, and will create themed drinks, such as the Zombie Apocalypse from Deadwood Mansion.

Once you’ve got your drink (and some food if you want), you can chill out in the futuristic lounge area and watch all of your gaming highlights (and maybe lowlights, if you’re not the best gamer!).

This won’t be the first Sandbox VR, as it launched in Hong Kong in 2017, and there are currently 19 venues in five countries across the globe.

Sandbox VR will open from July 28th.
