And it's about time!

Remember getting a Happy Meal as a kid? Those were the days, right?

Well get this, you don't have to be a child to get a Happy Meal anymore! Get in!

No really! This week, fast food giant McDonald's announced plans to introduce Happy Meals for adults, which of course wouldn't be complete without a free toy.

The release comes as part of a collaboration between McDonald's and hip streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market, and is set to start rolling out in participating stores in the US from next week (October 3rd).

No word on whether Maccies plans to roll this out to the rest of the world, but we're hoping!

The adult-sized Happy Meals will include adult size meal options such as a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, as well as, of course, fries and a drink. But what about the toy?

The plan is for McDonald's to return to its roots with four collectible figurines of McDonald’s mascots, which would be Grimace, the Hamburglar, Birdie, and a Cactus Buddy.

Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, said the collaboration is 'reigniting a new generation’s love' for both McDonalds and Cactus Plant Flea Market.

They continued; “We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fan. I can’t wait to give fans a unique piece of art and culture as we dive headfirst into the dynamic world of Cactus Plant Flea Market together next week.”

This isn't the first time McDonald's has teamed up with big pop culture names.

In 2020, it teamed up with American rapper Travis Scott, marketing his favorite meal: a Quarter Pounder, fries and a Sprite. And in 2021, McDonald's released the BTS Meal, a collaboration with the South Korean boy band.

Make ours a large one. If you need us we'll be stuffing our face with nuggets and playing with our Hamburglar in the corner.
