Texas took to The Top of The Tower for a special Virgin Radio Sunset Session last night (15th September).

During their first Sunset Session for Virgin Radio, Texas treated 150 lucky listeners to some of the biggest hits, including Say What You Want and Inner Smile.

Earlier in the day, lead vocalist Sharleen Spiteri joined The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch to talk about their recently announced 2024 UK arena tour.

Sharing where fans will be able to see them, she said: “We’re playing Leeds on the 6th September next year.

"Liverpool, we’re playing at M&S Bank Arena, then we’re at the International Centre in Bournemouth.

"We’ve got Cardiff Arena, Birmingham Arena, and the Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday the 14th.”

The 55-year-old told listeners that registration for presale tickets is open now: “We’re giving you plenty of time to buy your tickets.

"We’re not normally this organised,” Spiteri jokingly added.

Earlier in the year, Texas released a 24-track compilation album, The Very Best Of 1989-2023, featuring 22 of their most loved hits, and two unheard tracks.

One of the new songs, Keep On Talking, is a cover of a Northern Soul classic, originally made famous by James Barnett in 1966.

Recalling their time in the States recording the cover, the Summer Son singer explained: “We actually went off to Alabama, to Muscle Shoals, to the famous studios to make this record.

"We were doing a project with Spooner Oldham, and Spooner and Dan Penn wrote the song, and then we went there and we recorded this.

"We said to Spooner, ‘Can we do this song?’, and he was like, ‘God I haven’t heard this song in years’.

"It’s such a great track and to actually do it with Spooner Oldham is such a big deal.

"I mean, he’s 80 now. He’s played on so many records,” Spiteri added. “He played on Aretha Franklin’s first four albums.”

If you want to see more live performances from Texas, you can watch them perform Black Eyed Boy, and Keep On Talking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch.
