Having just released a new album, The Pretenders are hitting the road, and they’re doing so soon.

Yes, the legendary band have announced some gigs, which will take place as soon as next month. And the shows will be in pretty intimate settings.

Chrissie Hynde and the gang shared their 12th album, Relentless on Friday (15th September) and will celebrate by playing three club gigs around the country.

The first will be at London’s Electric Ballroom on 19th October. Following this opening concert in Camden, the band will then head to Manchester, where they will play at the O2 Ritz on the 23rd October.

Two days later, they will head further north, for a night at Barrowlands in Glasgow.

The Pretenders shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), saying: “The Pretenders will play three very special exclusive live shows to celebrate the release of their brand new studio album Relentless.”

Tickets go on general sale this Friday (22nd September) at 10am, but pre-sale tickets will be available a bit earlier, on Wednesday at 10am. If you want to be part of the pre-sale, then you need to buy a copy of new album Relentless before 5pm Tuesday 19th September through the official store.

Speaking about the intimate venues that the group are set to grace, Chrissie Hynde said: “Well, everyone prefers being in them. I certainly would rather go to see a band in the club. So there’s that, because I’m still an audience member. And also it’s just more fun. It’s a small stage.

“And you can see everyone and they’re right in your face and it’s a laugh, that’s why you’re there. If I see some crazy in the audience, I can really feed off of that. You can’t see it when you’re too far away.”

Here are The Pretenders’ upcoming tour dates:

  • 19th October - Electric Ballroom, London

  • 23rd October - O2 Ritz, Manchester

  • 25th October - Barrowlands, Glasgow
