Cher has revealed we have her boyfriend to thank for her Christmas record.
She shared that Alexander Edwards persuaded her to get back into the studio to make music again.
Cher has been dating Alexander for a year after the couple first met during Paris Fashion Week.
She has now released a new festive album much to the delight of fans.
Cher told Hello! Magazine: “It was Alexander who talked me into singing again. He brought me some songs and the subject of the Christmas album came up".
“I was ambivalent. I've been asked about doing one since my Sonny and Cher days. The truth is that I never really imagined myself doing it.”
She has teamed up for some festive collaborations with Michael Buble, Stevie Wonder and more.
The festive record is her 27th studio album.
It also includes her own take on a Christmas song, called DJ Play a Christmas Song.
Cher said she wanted to do something fun instead of the traditional ones.
“I didn’t want to do Silent Night, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or any of that stuff. It had to be something that was me,” she explained.
“Alexander helped me realise that now was the right time. He’s incredible: a talented producer and writer and so much more.”
Warner Records' co-chairman and COO, Tom Corson, has described the album as: "an incredible Christmas album that will rival and sit alongside the great Christmas albums of all time."
