Just days after her triumphant return at the Grammy Awards, footage of Celine Dion singing backstage at the ceremony has been released.

On Sunday night (4th February) the multi-award winning singer took to the stage of LA’s Crypto.com arena to present the award for Album of the Year, which was given to Taylor Swift for her album Midnights.

It’s the first time Dion has hit the stage since she revealed she’s been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) in 2022. The neurological condition causes spasms and affects her ability to walk and sing.

While the Grammys appearance was a surprise enough for fans, Celine proved she’s very much still got it when it comes to her powerful voice, and stopped for an impromptu duet with singer Sonya Elise backstage at the annual music ceremony.

Grammy-nominated artist Elise took to her Instagram account to share the incredible video with her fans. In the backstage footage, Elise and the All By Myself singer paused the festivities for a quick singalong to Celine’s 1993 hit The Power of Love.

Elise captioned the incredible vid: “Highlights of an ICONIC night So inspired & proud of my girls.”

Fans were left bowled over by the impressive vocals of both hit-makers, with many rushing to share their surprise at witnessing Celine hit those impressive notes once again.

“This how you interact with a legend!” wrote one fan, while another said: “How we missed hearing celine sing!!”

“It's been too long since the last time we heard Celine singing live!” noted a third.

Earlier in the evening, the Canadian star received a huge standing ovation from the audience after making her surprise Grammys appearance.

“Thank you all, I love you right back,” she said in response. “When I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart.”

Dion continued: “Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take it for granted, the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”

In December 2022, Celine was forced to cancel her Courage world tour after her SPS diagnosis, telling fans at the time that the condition “affects every aspect of my daily life.”
