Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has been pretty busy as of late, and he’s not only addressed those Glastonbury rumours, but he’s also announced the jam-packed line-up for his Malta Weekender.

Just yesterday (22nd February), the Britpop icon had fans in a tizzy over seemingly confirming his Glasto 2024 slot alongside current collaborative partner John Squire.

Instead of waiting for an official announcement, a follower on X (formerly Twitter) decided to go straight to the source and ask Liam head on if they can expect Gallagher and Squire at Worthy Farm from 26th June this year.

“Will we see you and Squire at Glastonbury this summer LG?”, asked the fan, to which the Champagne Supernova star simply replied: “Yeah.”

Returning to X to clarify his comments, Liam wrote: “I never said I was playing GLASTONBURY every body COOL OUT.”

When pressed by followers after reminding him of his original post, the Wonderwall hit-maker replied: “They said will we see you there I said YEAH and they might I might be selling CBD toblerones.”

Another fan also asked Liam about performing at the BRIT Awards on 2nd March, which he also seemed to confirm via social media.

“I never said I was playing the Brit’s [sic],” he replied, throwing water on that idea, but when fact-checked by another follower who found his original ‘confirming’ post, Liam added: “Ah ok you got me my bad.”

While we continue to be baffled by Liam’s whereabouts for Glastonbury and the BRIT Awards, we do know that he’s enlisted plenty of big indie names for his Malta Weekender.

The four-day event, dubbed Liam Gallagher & Friends: Malta Weekender, takes place from Thursday 19th September to Sunday 22nd September and features likes of Liam Fray, Blossoms, Jake Bugg, The View, Jamie Webster, The Lathums, The Royston Club, The Ks, along with a huge lineup for the special opening night Hacienda Takeover. Tickets go on sale on Friday 1st March at 10am.

The weekender will also have a variety of other experiences, including club nights, pool parties and boat trips to boot.

Liam Gallagher & Friends: Malta Weekender promises to be an “immersive experience like no other,” with more special guest appearances to be announced.

Tickets for Liam Gallagher & Friends: Malta Weekender go on general sale starting Friday, March 1st at 10am from livenation.co.uk.
