They’re reuniting to play Manchester, London, Cardiff, Dublin and Edinburgh in 2025, and now Oasis have been invited back to the scene of their epic 1996 gigs, three decades on.

In August 1996, the Britpop band played to 250,000 fans over two nights at the Hertfordshire stately home, and Knebworth House’s owner wants them to do it all again in 2026.

Henry Lytton Cobbold, who owns Knebworth House, responded on social media to news that Oasis were reforming to play a series of massive shows around the UK and Ireland.

Taking to X, Henry Lytton Cobbold, 3rd Baron Cobbold, wrote: “A bunch of Wembleys rather than a couple of Knebworths?  Fine with that. Wembley's a good warm up venue for a 30th Anniversary Knebworth '26 @oasis @KnebworthHouse”

The BBC reports that the Knebworth House owner also said: "Wembley is a reasonable warm-up venue for Knebworth. Then get ready for a nice huge 30th shindig in 2026.

"That's what the people want and they seem pretty good at doing what the people want. It would be a great way to have the best party of all parties."

Back in 1996, an incredible 2.5 million people applied for their two dates at Knebworth. Remarkably, that accounted for over two percent of the population of the UK.

All Knebworth tickets sold out in less than 24 hours, as you would expect. This broke every UK box office record in the process, and the event’s organisers estimated that the band could have sold two or three times as many tickets.

Liam Gallagher returned to the venue for two solo gigs in June 2022. Ahead of the gigs, he told Chris Evans at Virgin Radio: “It’ll be a different Knebworth, but I still think it’ll be amazing.”

Regarding Liam being invited to return with brother Noel in a couple of years, Henry Lytton Cobbold added (via BBC): "He knows where we are, he's always been keen, he's up for it. They just have to stay mates for 12 months."

Safe to say that fans are mad for the idea of the Gallagher brothers once again rocking Knebworth in 2026.

One took to X to write: “Oasis at Knebworth '26 would be amazing. Even better if you can do it at the Knebworth '96 price of £22.50. 😎”

Another wrote: “Would be absolutely amazing for them to be back at knebworth ♥️”

Someone else replied: “As the great Meatloaf said ‘You took the words right out of my mouth’”

We’ll have to wait and see whether Oasis do indeed end up marking the 30th anniversary of Knebworth with a performance there in 2026. Ahead of that though, a rumoured Glastonbury appearance in 2025 has been ruled out by the band.

Presale tickets for the Oasis 2025 summer UK tour went on sale on 30th August, with the general sale taking place on Saturday 31st August. Here are the prices.

The Oasis 2025 dates are as follows:

Cardiff Principality Stadium - 4th/5th July

Manchester Heaton Park - 11th/12th/16th/19th/20th July

London Wembley Stadium - 25th/26th/30th July & 2nd/3rd August

Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium - 8th/9th/12th August

Dublin Croke Park - 16th/17th August

On the Chris Evans Breakfast Show this week, Chris reacted to the Oasis news by speaking about how fans  can prepare for Oasis reunion gigs, and also admitted he has no memory of being at Knebworth.

Meanwhile, an Oasis fan has offered gig-goers the chance to camp in her garden rather than paying inflated hotel prices, but there's a catch. Read about it here.
