Finally, some good news! The Music Venues Trust has confirmed that 13 previously at-risk venues have now been removed from their red crisis list.
There were previously 30 grassroots music venues on their Save Our Venue Red List. It highlights venues facing imminent danger of permanent closure.
The news comes after MVT ran the Traffic Light campaign, which aimed to secure the future of 30 venues who were ineligible to receive funding from the government-backed Culture Recovery Funds.
Thanks to the campaign and the support of music lovers, the following venues have been removed from the list.
Arden Inn, Accrington,
Backstage Kinross
Boulevard, Wigan
Four Horsemen, Bournemouth
Gellions, Inverness
Hootenanny, Inverness
Plot 22, Sheffield
Rossi Bar in Brighton,
Strange Brew, Bristol
The Brunswick, Hove
The Grand Elektra/ The Crypt, Hastings
The Railway Inn, Winchester,
Waterloo Bar, Blackpool
Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust, said,
The fight isn't over yet, as the MVT is still raising funds for the remaining venues, and are hoping to help more to remain open until the pandemic is over.
