Finally, some good news for festival fans. The organisers of Reading & Leeds Festival announced today that the festivals will be going ahead for 2021.

After a year of no festivals and with the cancellation of Glastonbury, music lovers were understandably a little on edge at the thought of another year without live music.

It has been announced today though that the iconic Reading & Leeds events will be happening. It follows the government's announcement yesterday for a pathway back to normality as the Covid vaccine rollout continues.

Stormzy, Post Malone and Liam Gallagher are headlining this year. Put these dates in your diary: August Bank Holiday weekend from 27-29 August.

Organisers tweeted: "Following the government's recent announcement, we can't wait to get back to the fields this summer. LET'S GO."

Other acts at the three-day event include Catfish and the Bottlemen, Disclosure and Queens of the Stone Age.

The festival last took place in 2019, with a limit of 100,000 people per day at Reading.
