Finsbury Park is the place to be on July 17th next year, as George Ezra will be playing a huge gig there, and he’s being joined by some amazing support acts!
Not only will fans in attendance be able to sing along to George Ezra belting out big hits, such as Shotgun, Budapest and Hold My Girl, but they’ll be treated to other amazing artists as well. Joining George on the bill will be Blossoms and Holly Humberstone, and according to the promotional information for the event, there are ‘many more’ artists set to be announced as well.
Whilst George played at Glastonbury’s recent Live At Worthy Farm livestream, this gig will be his first show with an audience since Covid-19 struck last year, and will be the biggest headline gig that he has played so far in his career.
Blossoms, meanwhile, are already back in the swing of playing to large crowds, as they were part of one of the first big post-lockdown test events, at Sefton Park in Liverpool in May. Around 5,000 people attended, as part of a pilot by the government to give big events the go-ahead.
Meanwhile, Holly Humberstone has been gaining lots of fans in 2021, with singles The Walls Are Way Too Thin and Falling Asleep At The Wheel amassing tens of millions of streams on Spotify.
Taking to Instagram to announce next year’s big show, George Ezra said in a video: “Hello, it’s been a while – I know that, I feel it – but I’ve got some exciting news.”
In the video, which was, appropriately enough, shot at Finsbury Park station, he continued: “I’m headlining a show at Finsbury Park next year, on the 17th of July 2022.”
The singer then had to pause his announcement to wait for a train to pass, before adding, “I want you to be there. I need you to be there. It’s gonna be a party.”
Tickets go on general sale on Friday (August 20th) at 9am from Ticketmaster.
