If you weren’t already excited about the arrival of Get Back, Peter Jackson’s three-part docuseries for Disney+, then you most certainly will be as soon as you have checked out the brand new trailer!

Get Back comprises never-before-seen and restored footage, and focuses on The Beatles’ difficult recording sessions in 1969, as they tried to put together 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in more than two years.

The years-long project from Lord of the Rings director Jackson was originally supposed to result in one feature-length documentary, but he found so much gold in the archives that it has now been split into three parts, which will air on Disney+ over consecutive nights in November.

Jackson had more than 60 hours of original footage at his disposal, along with over 150 hours of unheard audio, the majority of which has been shut away in a vault for 50 years. As well as studio footage, Get Back will feature the entire rooftop gig atop their Savile Row headquarters in London, which turned out to be the Fab Four’s last ever live performance ahead of their split in 1970.

The original film footage was captured by Let It Be director Michael Lindsay-Hogg in January 1969.

The four-minute trailer gives a tantalising taste of what we can expect from Get Back. It features the band piecing together iconic songs such as Let It Be, the departure of George Harrison, moments of levity in the studio, John Lennon dancing with Yoko Ono, and the preparations for the legendary rooftop show.

Check out the trailer below, and then try to contain your excitement about seeing the full docuseries next month!

The three episodes of Get Back will premiere on Disney+ on November 25, 26 and 27.

We simply cannot wait for this!
