It's the collaboration dreams are made of.

Bastille know their way around a tune, and Lewis Capaldi has the voice of an angel so we're sure this will be a cracking combination.

Lewis has been squirrelled away writing new music, after announcing on social media he would be going quiet to work on his second album.

Now Dan Smith from Bastille has told The Sun he is working with the 'Someone You Loved' singer on new material.

Bastille took Lewis out on tour with them back in 2019, and joined the band onstage to perform ‘Bad Blood’ with them.

Dan said: "I did some writing with him and it was really great to see him,”

"Obviously he has had the most amazing time and I think he is just taking his time writing lots of music and living his life.”

He added: “We f****** love Lewis and we’re so proud of everything he’s done all over the world. It’s exciting to see what he’s going to do next.”

Lewis isn't the only person Dan has been writing for - he's also doing some tunes with Rihanna in mind.

“There were a couple of songs that I heard that her team liked for a minute,” he said.

"I imagine with that project, they hear and work on so much music and will just know when it’s right. There was a minute last year where I thought I’d done it. But I don’t think it’s happened.”

Lewis has also been working with One Republic’s Ryan Tedder. Tedder told The Sun: “I was playing the songs an hour ago in the car and it’s just like, goosebumps! The guy could sing a random song in Spanish and it would still give me goosebumps. He’s so good.”

We can't wait for Lewis to come out of hiding with some new tunes.
