It’s the Christmas song that needs no introduction, and now it has made history as it tops the US singles charts for the third year in a row and becomes the first to top the charts three separate times.

Surprisingly, the iconic song only hit number one in the UK Charts for the first time in 2020 but has topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the US three times, dropping out of the charts completely between each occasion.

It first entered the top 10 in December 2017 but made the number one spot in 2019. It also topped the chart last year and has done it again in 2021 for the third year in a row.

Altogether, the song has featured at the top of the singles chart for a combined 85 weeks.

Earlier this month (3 December), the singer also released her festive special, Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues, on Apple TV+.

In the special, Mariah is joined by Khalid and Kirk Franklin for their first and only performance of their new single, ‘Fall In Love At Christmas’.

The song is a romantic R&B-type ballad, and the music video was actually shot in Mariah’s living room, where the three singers gather dressed in their PJs.

Khalid rose to fame a few years ago after the release of his debut studio album, American Teen, and was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2019.

Kirk Franklin is an American choir director and gospel singer and has been dubbed the ‘reigning king of urban gospel’ after winning numerous awards for his work including 16 Grammy’s.

The latest release comes after the singers’ first collaboration with Apple TV in 2020, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, which was narrated by Tiffany Haddish and welcomed stars like Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande and Snoop Dog to join Carey on stage.
