The singer has posted a video on social media in which she told fans: “I'm so sorry, but my show ain't ready.”

With the first show due to take place tonight, Adele has been forced to pull her entire Las Vegas residency, due to Covid-19 cases within her crew, and delivery delays.

The Weekends With Adele residency, which totals 24 gigs at the Caesars Palace's Colosseum, was announced in November, causing a frenzy for tickets. Adele had planned to perform two shows every weekend until April.

Posting on Twitter and Instagram, Adele said: “I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.”

Looking clearly upset, she continued: “Half my crew, half my team are down with Covid. They still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show and I can’t give you what I have right now. I’m gutted.

“I’m sorry it’s so last minute, we’ve been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time. I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and so sorry to everyone that travelled again. I’m really, really sorry.”

She added: “We’re on it. We’re gonna reschedule all the dates. And I’m gonna finish my show and get it to where it’s supposed to be.

"I’m so sorry, it’s been impossible. We’ve been up against so much and it just ain’t ready. I’m really sorry.”

Tickets for the show ranged from $85 (£60) to $685 (£500). The shows would have been the artist’s first since 2017.

Adele is set to play two two huge homecoming shows in London in July 2022. The gigs will be part of the well-established and popular British Summer Time Hyde Park events. She will take to the stage on Friday 1st July and Saturday 2nd July.

The singer recently dropped a new single, Oh My God, taken from her massive new album, 30.
