The award ceremony, hosted by Mo Gilligan, will take place on Tuesday 8th February, and there are some cracking live acts set to play.

Fans will be able to see the likes of Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher and Holly Humberstone performing live from The O2 Arena in London, as The BRIT Awards 2022 with Mastercard will be aired live on ITV and ITV Hub,

Also announced in the first wave of artists are Dave, Doja Cat and Little Simz, as the music industry comes together to celebrate the best of British and international music in what has been another incredibly challenging year for the industry.

Sharing the news on Twitter this morning (21st January), Liam Gallgher said: “I’m gonna be performing my new single Everything’s Electric at the Brit awards this year and I’d appreciate it if you stopped what you were doing and tuned in cheers, LG.”

The former Oasis frontman has been busy on his Twitter page over the last few days. After announcing that his new single would land on February 4th, he also responded to one fan asking whether Oasis are getting back together by saying: “Not yet RKID.”

Liam’s new single will be followed by his third studio album in late Spring, and two huge Knebworth headline shows in June.

Ed Sheeran’s appearance at The BRITs will follow the release of his fifth studio album, = , which landed last year. He will then take on a massive UK and Ireland stadium tour in the Spring/Summer, including five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Holly Humberstone will play at the ceremony as a winner already. It has been announced that she has taken out the prize for BRITs 2022 Rising Star.

With Omicron still presenting many challenges, The BRITs will continue to lead the way in terms of putting on a live music event safely. Artists, Nominees and all guests will be asked to show a negative LFT test on arrival to the venue, and this year fans will be offered to purchase stall seats on the arena floor.

The BRITs are this year working with Blue Light Tickets where the emergency services are invited to enter a ballot to come to the show, following the gifting of tickets to NHS front-line workers in 2021.

Audience members will not be socially distanced but will be asked to wear their masks when not eating or drinking, or in their seats.

Tickets are now on sale here.
