Jack White proposes and marries girlfriend Olivia Jean during concert performance

White Stripes legend Jack White just set the bar very high for anyone thinking of proposing to their significant other. 

The musician treated fans at his hometown gig in Detroit to an up-close-and-personal look into his private life when he brought on girlfriend Olivia Jean onto the stage.

Olivia, who is also a singer and Jack's Supply Chains tour opening act, joined him for a duet of the White Stripes hit Hotel Yorba.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Jack introduced Olivia as his girlfriend while on stage, and then brought out a ring before asking her to marry him. 

A teary-eyed Olivia gladly accepted the proposal, before literally being whisked off stage by her new fiance.

There was no time to celebrate though, as the pair were soon back in front of the huge audience and joined by Jack’s mum, Olivia’s Dad and Ben Swank, the co-founder of Jack’s record label, who served as officiant. 

The marriage was made official mere seconds after it started, and like a true pro, Jack then finished off his 90 minute concert, but as a newly married man. 

It was really one for the history books, as it also marked Jack’s first solo show in his hometown since 2018. The performance kicked off his Supply Chains tour, which is promoting his latest album, Fear Of The Dawn. 

On Instagram, the singer shared the lovely moment he popped the big question with a snap of him and Olivia on stage, with the caption: “Let’s get married in a big cathedral by a priest. 04.08.22.”
