Wolf Alice has announced plans to re-release their album Blue Weekend with a lullaby version of select songs from the record.

Renamed Blue Lullaby, the EP will feature four reworked tracks from the original album, including No Hard Feelings, Lipstick On The Glass, How Can I Make It Ok? And Last Man On Earth, which you can listen to below.

Frontwoman Ellie Rowsell said Blue Lullaby came about because the band wanted to experiment with stripping down some of their more emotional songs from Blue Weekend to “see if they hit any different” (via NME).

She added: “We also had a really nice moment during the ‘Blue Weekend’ campaign singing one of our songs with a choir and we wanted to experience that again with a few other songs, especially as there are a lot of harmonies and a lot of vocal layering on ‘Blue Weekend’.

“Hearing multiple voices singing together is an unparalleled feeling to me so I’m happy we got to record this experience and I hope people enjoy it.”

Blue Lullaby will be released on 24 June with stripped-down versions of the four songs from the previous album.

This comes as the band confirms a series of summer gigs at the likes of Reading & Leeds festival and Glastonbury. They will also play a host of dates with Harry Styles in Europe, which kicks off next month.

In March this year, Wolf Alice took home the Best Group award at the BRITS 2022 after beating the likes of Coldplay, Little Mix, D-Block Europe and London Grammar.

Upon accepting the trophy, bassist Theo Ellis said: “That’s absolutely unbelievable. I think we’re quite shocked.”

Wolf Alice first formed in 2010, and their second studio album, Visions of a Life, earned them the 2018 Mercury Prize. Blue Weekend is their third album as a band.
