The Libertines have unveiled plans to release a Super Deluxe Edition of their debut album Up The Bracket on top of a string of live shows ahead of its 20th anniversary.

Up The Bracket (Super Deluxe Edition) will be a remaster of the original album and include 65 previously unreleased recordings, with original demos, radio sessions and live recordings. The album will be released in multiple formats via Rough Trad on 21 October 2022.

On top of that, a live recording from the 100 club in 2002 will also be included in the package with a 60-page book that features new interviews with the band by Anthony Thornton and unseen photos and memorabilia.

That’s not all either, fans will be delighted to know that The Libertines will be celebrating the milestone birthday of their debut album with some anniversary gigs this year that will include a performance of Up The Bracket in its entirety along with some of their greatest hits.

The band will be touring across venues in Bristol, Manchester, London, Cardiff and Edinburgh including appearances at the likes of Glastonbury Festival, Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival and Coventry’s Godiva Festival.

If you have gotten your hands on a ticket for their Wembley show on 23 July, the band will also be joined by two of their favourite bands from 2002- The Cribs and The Paddingtons. Rising star Louis Dunford and DJ Amazonica will also be joining the band for the evening.

This comes after frontman Pete Doherty revealed his plans for the band to record their new album in Jamaica after reacquainting himself with Carl Barât.

Speaking to The Guardian, he said: “We still feel there’s unfinished business and there are more songs to write. But he [Carl Barât] doesn’t want to do it in England, or in France, which he sees as my turf. So the plan is to go to Jamaica and try to make another Libertines record.”

Up The Bracket (Super Deluxe Edition), out on 21 October 2022, is available for pre-order here.
